Privacy and cookies

What this site records about you, why, and how to change your mind. Short, because there is not much of it.

Your current choice

Analytics not set

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the site treats that as a no and does not ask.

Who is responsible

This site is run by DJPG Consulting Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 16973621. For anything about your data, email dan@djpg.co.uk.

Analytics, only if you say yes

With your permission, the site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. Until you choose, Google Analytics is not loaded at all: no script, no cookies, no data sent.

If you say yes, Google Analytics records the page you visit, where you arrived from, your device type and screen size, your browser language and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, so none of this is used for ads.

The lawful basis is your consent. The data is processed by Google as our processor and kept for the retention period set in Google Analytics, which is 2 months.

Both are set only after you say yes, and deleted if you change your answer to no.

Your choice itself

Your answer is saved in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) under djpg-consent, so the site does not ask on every page. It stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. The site asks again after a year.

Server logs

Like any web server, this one keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested and browser) to keep the site secure and working. They are deleted automatically after 14 days.

Everything else

Fonts are served from this site, not Google Fonts. There are no ads, social media trackers or embedded third-party content. Links to LinkedIn and GitHub are ordinary links; those sites only see you if you follow them.

If you email me, I use your message only to reply and keep it as long as we are in touch.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete personal data held about you, or object to how it is used, by emailing dan@djpg.co.uk. If you are unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
